Helping people find their voice—and giving it shape.
I’ve been drawn to stories for as long as I can remember. One of my first jobs was as a lifestyle writer for a local newspaper, where I’d sit down with people—teachers, veterans, shop owners—and share their stories with the world. Even back then, I saw how the right words, the right framing, could make someone feel seen. Heard. Understood.
Some of that might come from my roots. My great-grandfather was a traveling preacher who had a local radio show. I grew up in a culture where stories were used to connect, to move, to reveal truth. I still carry that with me—not in sermons, but in the way I help brands tell the story of who they are, who they serve, and why it matters.
After working at one of the oldest ad agencies in the country, I saw how the tools of branding and design were shifting. What used to be reserved for big-budget clients became accessible to anyone with the right skillset—and I wanted to use mine to help the ones who didn’t have agencies of record or in-house teams: the small businesses, the nonprofits, the people doing meaningful work but struggling to share it well.
My first billboard went up in South Carolina. I spotted it while on vacation and turned the car around just to take a photo under it. I put that photo up in my office. Not because the design was revolutionary, but because it was the first time I saw my work in the world—doing what I hoped it would: connect, communicate, invite.
Today, whether I’m consulting with a client, writing brand messaging, or designing visual systems, I start with one thing: listening. I’m not here to show off my ideas—I’m here to understand yours. You’re the expert in your field; I’m here to help translate that into something others can see, feel, and trust.
What clients often tell me is, “You really got us.” And that’s always my goal.
I love working with people who have a heart for their audience, who care deeply about who they serve. If you have a mission but don’t yet have the words, structure, or tools to express it—I’d love to help you find your voice and give it shape.
